We are thrilled to share that The Travelling Auctioneers, the much loved BBC One series, will be filming at our Loseley Park saleroom on Thursday 27 August. It is a genuine honour to welcome the programme to Aubreys, and a real pleasure to be able to open our doors and invite you to be part of the day.
For anyone who has not yet discovered it, The Travelling Auctioneers follows the specialist auctioneers and restoration experts as they take their auction house and workshop across the country. Along the way they uncover hidden gems, breathe new life into neglected treasures, and bring them to the saleroom, opening up the worlds of restoration and auctioneering to a wider audience with real warmth and expertise. To see that craft up close, in our own saleroom, is something rather special.
And here is the best part. This is a live auction, and you can bid.
The lots coming under the hammer on the day are those the programme has discovered and restored during filming, and they will be sold in a genuine live sale in front of the cameras. Members of the public are warmly invited to join the audience and to bid, exactly as you would at any Aubreys auction. If a piece catches your eye, raise your hand, and you may well go home with something rather lovely, and with the story of how you came by it.
Set within 1400 acres of historic parkland just a few minutes from Guildford, Loseley Park is one of the most beautiful settings imaginable for an auction. Welcoming a national programme here is a fitting reflection of everything we at Aubreys stand for, traditional expertise brought to life with modern, professional care.
There is no charge to attend and everyone is welcome, whether you are a seasoned collector, a curious first timer, or you simply fancy a memorable day out in glorious surroundings. And since the cameras will be rolling throughout, you may well find yourself on screen when the episode airs.
A short word on bidding, if you have never done it before
Bidding at auction is far less daunting than television sometimes makes it look. You register for a numbered paddle, you decide in advance the most you are willing to pay for a lot, and when the auctioneer reaches your price you simply raise your paddle clearly. If you would rather not go further, you do nothing at all. Our team will be on hand throughout to help, so do please ask. A useful habit to build, whatever you are bidding on, is to set your limit before the lot comes up rather than in the heat of the moment, since the room has a way of carrying people further than they intended.
Date: Thursday 27th August 2026
Location: Aubreys Auctioneers, 18 Loseley Park, Guildford, Surrey, GU3 1HS
Timings: Doors open at 9am, sale starts at 10am.
We do hope you will join us. Filming days like this do not come along often, and it would be lovely to share it with as many friends of Aubreys as possible. Keep an eye on our social channels in the days beforehand for any final details, and please do spread the word to anyone who might enjoy coming along.
We look forward to seeing you at Loseley Park on the 27th.

The Travelling Auctioneers is produced by STV Studios for BBC One. Filming is subject to change at the production’s discretion.
